Terms of Service
These Terms of Use (hereinafter referred to as the “Terms”) set forth the conditions for using all products and services provided by ChitChat (hereinafter referred to as the “Company”). These Terms constitute an agreement between the users of the services (hereinafter referred to as the “Users”) and the Company.
1. Definitions
The following terms are used in these Terms:
- 1.1 “Content” refers to text, voice, music, images, videos, software, programs, code, and other types of information.
- 1.2 “Service Content” refers to content accessible through the Service.
- 1.3 “User-Submitted Content” refers to content submitted, transmitted, or uploaded to the Service by Users.
- 1.4 “Individual Terms of Use” refers to separate written terms, guidelines, or policies distributed or published by the Company in relation to the Service, under names such as “terms,” “guidelines,” or “policies,” which are distinct from these Terms.
2. Consent to the Terms
- 2.1 Users must use the Service in accordance with these Terms. Unless the User has effectively and irrevocably agreed to these Terms, they may not use the Service.
- 2.2 If the User is a minor, they must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian before using the Service. Additionally, if the User is using the Service on behalf of a business entity, the business must also agree to these Terms before use.
- 2.3 By using the Service, the User is deemed to have effectively and irrevocably agreed to these Terms.
- 2.4 If there are any Individual Terms of Use applicable to the Service, the User must comply with those terms in addition to these Terms.
3. Changes to the Terms
When deemed necessary by the Company, these Terms and any applicable Individual Terms of Use may be changed at any time without prior notice to the Users. The revised Terms and Individual Terms of Use shall become effective upon being posted in an appropriate location on the Company’s official website. If a User continues to use the Service after the changes take effect, the User shall be deemed to have effectively and irrevocably agreed to the revised Terms and applicable Individual Terms of Use. As the Company will not individually notify Users of such changes, Users are advised to regularly review the latest version of these Terms and any applicable Individual Terms of Use when using the Service.
4. Accounts
- 4.1 When registering to use the Service, Users must provide accurate, complete, and truthful information, and must update such information regularly to maintain its accuracy.
- 4.2 If a User registers a password for the Service, they are solely responsible for managing and safeguarding it to prevent unauthorized use. Any action taken using the password shall be deemed to have been performed by the User themself.
- 4.3 Registered Users may delete their accounts at any time to terminate use of the Service.
- 4.4 If the Company determines that a User has violated or is likely to violate these Terms, the Company may suspend or delete the User’s account without prior notice.
- 4.5 The Company may delete any account that has been inactive for over one year since the last login, without prior notice.
- 4.6 Upon deletion of an account, the User’s right to use the Service shall be terminated for any reason. Please note that once deleted, an account cannot be restored, even if deleted by mistake.
- 4.7 An account for this Service is personal and exclusive to the User. All rights to use the Service are non-transferable and may not be loaned to or inherited by any third party.
5. Privacy
- 5.1 The Company respects the privacy of its Users.
- 5.2 The Company handles Users’ private and personal information appropriately in accordance with the Chit Chat Privacy Policy.
- 5.3 The Company will manage information collected from Users in a secure manner and will implement strict security measures for its protection.
6. Provision of Services
- 6.1 Users are responsible for preparing, at their own expense, the necessary equipment for using the Service, including personal computers, mobile phones, communication devices, operating systems, internet connections, and power supply.
- 6.2 The Company may provide all or part of the Service only to Users who meet certain conditions, such as age requirements, identity verification status, registration status, or other conditions deemed necessary by the Company.
- 6.3 The Company reserves the right to modify all or part of the Service or to suspend its provision at any time without prior notice to Users if deemed necessary.
7. No Emergency Communication Function
The Service does not include any functions that allow emergency communication with agencies such as police, coast guard, fire departments, or other authorities.
8. Advertising
The Company may display advertisements from itself or third parties within the Service.
9. Services from Business Partners
The Service may include content or services provided by third-party business partners affiliated with the Company. Responsibility for such services or content rests solely with the third-party provider. The terms of use or other conditions established by such providers may apply to their services or content.
10. Content
- 10.1 The Company grants Users a non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and non-exclusive right to use the Service Content provided by the Company, solely for the purpose of using the Service.
- 10.2 If specific usage conditions such as fees or usage periods are defined for any Content used by the User, the User shall comply with such conditions. Even if the Service interface displays words such as “purchase” or “sale,” all intellectual property rights and other rights related to the Content remain with the Company, and no ownership is transferred to the User. The User is granted only the usage rights as described above.
- 10.3 Users shall not use the Content beyond the usage scope prescribed by the Service, including reproduction, transmission, republication, alteration, or other forms of unauthorized use.
- 10.4 Users are responsible for backing up their own User-Submitted Content. The Company is under no obligation to retain or store backups of User-Submitted Content.
- 10.5 The Service may include functions that allow multiple Users to post, modify, or delete content. In such cases, the User agrees that their submitted content may be edited by other Users.
- 10.6 Users retain all rights to their User-Submitted Content, and the Company does not claim ownership of such rights. However, if the submitted content is made publicly available to Users outside the User’s friends list, the User grants the Company a free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use the content for Service or promotional purposes. This includes the right to modify or omit the content to the extent deemed necessary and appropriate by the Company, as well as the right to sublicense such usage rights to third-party business partners of the Company.
- 10.7 If the Company needs to confirm whether User-Submitted Content violates applicable laws or these Terms, the Company may review such content. However, this does not impose an obligation on the Company to conduct such reviews.
- 10.8 If the Company determines, or suspects, that the User’s submitted content violates applicable laws or these Terms, or if there is another business-related necessity, the Company may restrict the use of such content within the Service, including deleting it, without prior notice to the User.
11. Prohibited Conduct
Users shall not engage in any of the following acts when using the Service:
- 11.1 Acts that violate laws, court judgments, decisions or orders, or legally binding administrative measures.
- 11.2 Acts that may harm public order or violate standards of decency and good morals.
- 11.3 Acts that infringe upon the intellectual property rights (such as copyrights, trademark rights, or patent rights), rights of reputation, privacy rights, or any other legal or contractual rights of the Company or any third party.
- 11.4 Acts involving content that includes excessive violence, overt sexual expression, discriminatory expressions based on race, nationality, religion, gender, social status, or family background, content that promotes or encourages suicide, self-harm, or drug abuse, or other content deemed socially inappropriate or offensive.
- 11.5 Acts of impersonating the Company or a third party, or intentionally spreading false information.
- 11.6 Sending the same or similar messages indiscriminately to multiple unspecified Users (unless approved by the Company), adding other Users as friends or to group message boards at random, or other acts deemed spam by the Company.
- 11.7 Using the Service Content for monetary gain, material rewards, or other economic benefits through methods not authorized by the Company.
- 11.8 Using the Service for marketing, promotion, advertisement, solicitation, or other profit-making purposes (unless approved by the Company); acts aimed at engaging in sexual or obscene conduct; acts for the purpose of meeting or dating strangers of the opposite sex; acts aimed at harassing, slandering, or defaming other Users; or using the Service for purposes inconsistent with the intended use of the Service.
- 11.9 Providing benefits or other forms of assistance to antisocial forces.
- 11.10 Soliciting participation in religious activities or religious groups.
- 11.11 Improperly collecting, disclosing, or providing other Users’ personal information, registration information, or usage records.
- 11.12 Interfering with the servers or network systems of the Service; using bots, cheat tools, or other technical means to manipulate the Service improperly; exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities in the Service; making excessive or unreasonable inquiries (such as repeatedly submitting the same issue); or any other acts that obstruct the Company’s operation of the Service or interfere with other Users' use of the Service.
- 11.13 Supporting or encouraging any of the acts described in Sections 11.1 through 11.12.
- 11.14 Any other acts deemed inappropriate by the Company.
12. User Responsibilities
- 12.1 Users shall use the Service at their own risk and shall be solely responsible for all actions taken and the consequences arising from their use of the Service.
- 12.2 If the Company determines that a User is using the Service in violation of these Terms, the Company may take any measures it deems necessary and appropriate. However, the Company is not obligated to prevent or remedy such violations.
- 12.3 If the Company incurs any direct or indirect damages (including legal fees) arising from a User’s use of the Service (including complaints received from third parties related to such use), the User shall immediately compensate the Company upon request.
13. Disclaimer by the Company
- 13.1 The Company makes no warranty, express or implied, that the Service (including its Content) is free from factual or legal defects (including but not limited to security, reliability, accuracy, completeness, validity, fitness for a particular purpose, bugs, or non-infringement). The Company has no obligation to eliminate such defects and provide a flawless service.
- 13.2 The Company shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the User arising from the use of the Service. However, if the agreement between the User and the Company concerning the Service (including these Terms) constitutes a consumer contract under applicable consumer protection laws, this exemption clause does not apply.
- 13.3 Notwithstanding the exception in Section 13.2 above, in the event of damages caused by non-performance or tortious acts due to the Company’s negligence (excluding gross negligence), the Company shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, or consequential damages (including damages that were foreseeable by either party). Furthermore, the Company’s liability for direct damages due to its negligence (excluding gross negligence) shall be limited to the total amount of fees paid by the User to the Company during the month in which the damages occurred.

- 14.1 The Company may contact Users regarding matters related to the Service by posting notices in an appropriate location on the Company’s official website or by other means deemed appropriate by the Company.
- 14.2 Users may contact the Company regarding matters related to the Service by submitting a request through the inquiry form on the Company’s website or by other methods specified by the Company.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising between the User and the Company in relation to or in connection with the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the local District Court or Summary Court as the court of first instance.
